is holding up after a mudslide earlier this week. >> and just a few hours ago two cars go up in flames at an apartment complex and it was no accident. >> complete bay area news coverage arts tight new. this is ktv mornings on 2. >> welcome. it's saturday november 17th. >> a wet start to the weekend. let's check in with rosemary. >> good morning. if you do have an early morning errand it's a bit breezy, a bit messy as well giving you a look at storm tracker two. we are -- dealing with a back side of the first storm. we will continue to see scattered showers through the morning hours. by the afternoon we are going to get a break. rights now we have rain over santa rose anapa, along nevado, san rafael. a little bit of fog this morning along the peninsula. dry for the most part.

san francisco into season mateo, redwood city, into the south bay san jose dry at moment. santa cruz mountains with light rain and over parts of east bay, oakland, haywood reporting light rain. richmond, concordo into brentwood. on the back edge of storm number one. ly show you a detailed timeline of the weekend coming up. >> a police officer is recovering after getting wounded in a shoot out with two robbery suspects. matt keller is live in san jose with the condition of that officer and the manhunt. >> reporter: it was a dramatic night and morning here in east san jose. this neighborhood is the site of where one suspect was arrested after he was wanted for several armed robberies and a shoot out with officers. police say an officer saw the vehicle matching the description of one used in four armed robberies earlier yesterday. a chase followed and two

suspect was stopped, one of them opened fire. >> they weren't bb guns, this wasn't -- this was a gun battlel and we have multiple bullet holes, we have an officer at the medical center. >> police sate officer had minor injuries. one suspect ran away while the other drove off. that person eventually crashed at cunningham avenue and ran off. are 15 officers were evacuate. officers say the other suspect had a nonlife threatening gun shot wound believe to be from the officer returning fire. the suspect second is still on the loose. police aren't releasing the names of the officers but sate injured officer is a ten year veteran and the officer that returned fire is a five year veteran. reporting live in san jose. >> san jose police

investigating whether a homicide earlier in the evening is any way connected to the gunman in that officer involve shooting. police found a man shot and killed in the park ifing lot of a 7-11 around 8:30 last night. officers have not released any information about what led up to the shooting or any information about a possible suspect. police in east oakland investigating an overnight homicide. they say they found a male shooting victim on the 3,000 block of plitner just before 1:30. the victim's age isn't known and police haven't released any information about a motive or the circumstances of that shooting. >> if you are going to hit the roads expect wet conditions and standing water in some areas. the rain made for a tough drive last night around the bay area. a massive back up on 580 stopped traffic and several accidents were reported on highway 17. we have seen a lot of spin outs this morning. all this rain has some who live in daly city worried about

the possibility of another mudslide following a water main break this week that sent 98,000-gallons of water down a hill. we are live. >> reporter: right now there is a pretty heavy drizzle outside here but it's not pouring down. you can see where the city line up these hay and all this netting to protect the area just in case. of course many of the people who live nearby who saw that rushing water and their cars soaked tuesday are worried about all this new rain. three to five thousand cubic yards of mud came down the hillside when a pipe burst and some say they don't trust the stability of the hillside. the city workers believe the measures will protect the neighborhood. >> what we are hearing is anywhere initial amounts of rain, half an inch to an inch.

i heard some up to two inches of rain. its going to be spread over a period time this is pretty heard -- as -- we aren't anticipating problems. >> reporter: another storm is expected to hit the area sometime after sunset. more than likely overnight. we can expect another quarter to a half inch of rain and back out live you can see it's still quite a mess. mounds of mud as far as the eye can see. we are going to talk to you more about the clean up in the 8:00 hour. we will take you closer to that hillside to show you what it looks like. >> all right. a light drizzle there. other parts of the area heavy rain coming down. i know driving to work it was just coming down and the winds were whipping across that bridge.

>> right. winds up to 25 miles an hour. down into san jose, haywood with gusts at timesw. have gray skies, we have the drizzle, light rain, little bit of fog with visibility down to just a couple miles, in some cases like nevado. half moon bay and onto storm tracker 2 where we have the rainfalling, but this is again sort of the back edge. as we progress through the morning hours it'll begin to taper off. we will get a bit of a break-in to the afternoon before the second storm moves in. over parts of the north bay the rain continues, over areas of santa rosa, sonoma, dealing light rain at this time. down into nevado, mill valley, rainfalling on your rooftop along the peninsula, rain staying a little bit of drizzle falling beneath the radar, showing a mainly dry condition but plenty of moisture so it's not difficult for the drizzle to continue.

redwood, the southern half into morgan hill. a few scattered showers and the east bay dealing with scattered showers richmond, oak hand into danville and brentwood. we have a look here at the two storms. this first one will continue to go across the californias, we move through the afternoon. we are going to see a bit of a break, maybe a bit of sun and then for the second half this system will start to pull in. let me show you what i'm talking about. scattered shower this morning. expect the slick roads, by noontime we have mainly cloud conditions but we are mainly dry. we have the break, we have rain and snow at the sierra but the elevation very high with the snow above 7,000 feet. by sunset, 5:00 we have the rain pulling in once again. this is the second system moving in to the north bay. if you have evening plans it's going to be wet.

over the central bay by 7:00 and in to the south bay by 10. in the overnight it starts to push out. tomorrow morning, sunday 8:00. mainly dry and sunday will be cooler than today but we will be again mainly dry for sunday. the winds right now 14 miles an hour in oakland. 16 in san jose. temperatures, mild. relatively speaking. we are have upper 50s, low 60s outside outside the door right now. 60 degrees for mountain view. 57 santa rose a. here is a look at afternoon highs, upper 50s, low 60s. morning showers, a bit of a break in the afternoon. the rain will return for the evening hours. your extended forecast with your weekend in view, low 60s in the forecast, as we talked about. we have a second storm by tonight. looks like it clears out early tomorrow morning and we are dealing partly cloudy skies for the second half of the day. monday, tuesday into wednesday, mix of sun and clouds,

temperatures will warm slightly into wednesday. a slight chance of rain that could keep us unsettled as we get closer to thanksgiving dame coming up how much rain we have seen fall so far. >> a chp officer is recovering after crashing a patrol car. it happened after ten last night on the west railroad avenue exit. the car landed upside down and the officer wasn't injured. the highway patrol hasn't said if the rain was a factor. a memorial planned for an officer killed in the line of duty. it was a year before he was shot and killed. henry smith junior is a accused of leading police on a high speed chase after he robbed a bank. he is scheduled to appear in court for november 27 president. today's memorial is planned for 11:00 on the steps of city hall. >> new this morning oakland firefighters think someone may be burning cars, crews were called to an apartment building

on the 3300 block of cortland avenue. when they arrived two vehicles in a carport were on fire. it took about 15 minutes to bring that fire under control. nobody was hurt but investigators are calling the car fires suspicious. >> wal-mart is trying to stop some of its workers causing a scene on black friday. employees complaining about working conditions have been holding demonstrations across the country including this one at a wal-mart in richmond. wal-mart has filed a petition against the united food and commercial worker's international union. wal-mart accused the union of staging nationwide protests to try to disrupt business. some of you who live in the east bay don't have to wait for black friday to get a jump on the holiday shopping. retailers on first street and in downtown livermore are opening their doors early this morning for the yearly earlier than the bird promotion.

. good morning. it's a gloomy start this morning. lingering light showers for your saturday morning. a second system arrives by tonight. >> new, just moments ago israel announced its defense system shot down a palestine rocket. >> okay. >> reporter: a reporter is in gaza for cnn. they are trying to stay safe. just a couple hours ago she posted on facebook a message that said explosions every few minutes, it just won't stop. israel launched two hundred air strikes overnight. the palestine responded by firing five hundred rocket this is week including an unprecedented attack aimed at

the jerusalem. a cease fire seems increasingly unlikely. the threat of a war in the middle east is frightening people here. a group of palestine supporters held a peace rally. locals with loved ones over there say the identifying will continue to escalate. >> they are afraid because you know all the -- all the bedrooms have all these windows. they are afraid everything will fall on them. >> it's a constant in the back of your mind fear that there is going to be something that will happen. there will be an attack. >> the president called on both israel and egypt in the homes of working together to deescalate the tension. >> a deadly disaster in southern egypt. a speeding train crashed into a bus full of children heading to school. at least 47 people were killed. the majority were students aged

four to six. parents could be seen rushing to the crash site. one official said that the railroad crossing was not down as the train approached it. the president said those responsible for the accident will be held responsible. the coast guard search for two workers still missing after an explosion. four men were burned in the blast on the oil platform off the coast of louisiana. the fire came just a day after bp agreed to pay a record $4.5 billion in penalties for the 2010 deep water horizon explosion that killed 11. this weekend a sheen of oil has been spotted in the water off louisiana. officials say they believe it was caused by residual oil on the platform. >> an arizona woman is under arrest after driving onto an airport runway with a baby in the backseat. police say she may have been on drugs when she broke through a fence and drove on to the

runway at sky harbor airport with her 2-month-old son in the backseat but her mother said the driver has bipolar disorder and needs treatment. >> we don't believe her intent was to cause harm. we believe its impairment. >> analysts say it races questions about airport security. >> investigators in indiana are trying to find what sparked a deadly workplace shooting. police say the gunman shot and killed a co worker and then took his own life. it happened in a break room at the conagra food plant in indianapolis. >> while the victim had his back to him standing at a coke machine the suspect just fired several shots. >> authorities are reviewing video to try and figure out what happened. families of the victims of a shooting at a colorado movie

theater will soon receive payments from a charityible fund. they said more than $5 million in donations will be given out to those injuried in the shootings. families of the 12 killed and five who suffered permanent damage will receive at least $220,000. >> police in missouri have arrested a man who planned to open fire during a screening of the new twilight movie. he is facing charges, he bought tickets to the showing confessed to planning to shoot people inside theater. his mother tipped off police after he brought two assault rifles and hundreds of bullets. there is a frightening incident at a premiere inside a theater in north carolina. some people say a group of men got into an altercation during the middle of the movie. >> i sprinted out of there.

lingering showers morning but at this hour if you have an early morning drive it is slick out there. dealing with a very slick roads, breezy at times, little fog in some spots, but you can see the scattered showers are just that. hit or miss as they move through the area as they push in to the east we have them from the north bayh long the peninsula into south bay. east bay as well and again on the back side of this first storm the second one coming in by this evening. still about 280 miles off shore. how much rain have we seen? impressive in some spots. santa rosa with an inch and two tenths. nearly three tenths in oakland. six tenths for san rafael. for the afternoon, mostly cloudy, maybe a few sprinkles but a lull for afternoon. upper 50s, low 60's for the forecast. it'll be breezia heaved the next storm -- ahead of the next

. a manhunt underway in san jose at this hour after a police officer is injured in a shoot out with two robbery suspects. good morning. welcome back to mornings on 2. >> that manhunt resume this is morning for a suspected bank robber who wound a san jose police officer. matt keller is live in san jose to update us on the condition of the officer. >> reporter: i just spoke to the neighbor who lives in this home right here. that's next door to the home where the suspect ran to after crashing his vehicle nearby. she said it was like out of a movie with several officers inside her home trying to find how to get to the man they believed opened fire on the

officer earlier in the night. police say a patrol officer spotted a vehicle last night after nine, matching one used in armed robbery yesterday. two suspect stopped the vehicle and one opened fire on officers. police say one suspect ran off while the other drove off. that person eventually crashed the vehicle at cunningham and tim way and ran away into a nearby home. the next door neighbor explained what happened next. >> they kept over the speaker letting the suspect know that the house was surrounded and to, you know, exit the house with his hands up and they did that several times over the course of a couple hours, nothing happened. >> the suspect eventually came out around one this morning and was arrested. police say he suffered a nonlife threatening gun shot wound believed to be from the officer returning fire. the second suspect is still on

the loose. act 15 people were evacuated including one who was let back in about 2:30. reporting live in san jose. >> happening now a massive manhunt underway in south los angeles for the suspect who shot a sheriff's deputy. authorities say a deputy who belong today's a gang unit was shot last night in the florence area which was several miles south of downtown. the deputy has been rushed in to surgery and more than 100 officers participating in the search. >> for the first time los angeles county probation officers will patrol the rivalry football game. its part of an effort to crack down on fan violence. it comes two years after a fight between dozens of fans left two men stabbed and two officers injured. you can watch that game at noon. >> a deputy sheriff is a accused of robbing a bank and is scheduled to appear in court

on monday. yesterday we first aired this surveillance photograph, police say it was taken ten days ago ago. authorities say that it shows a 36-year-old deputy. police say his fingerprints were also found on the note handed to the teller. before joining the sheriff he worked at a gun store. >> to make that kind of decision, is someone in sworn member of law enforcement. it's like a bad movie, a really bad movie. >> he filed for bankruptcy in july. he holds assets of $577,000 but is more than $700,000 in debt. he is married with two boys. when amber lee rang the doorbell someone turned off the

porch light. a former police officer is in jail accused of defrauding an 82-year-old by taking control of their estate. he was with the force then. his wife's -- has also been arrested in the case. >> hundreds of union workers at the port of oakland say they plan to go on strike for one day next week. >> it's an unfair labor take strike. we are striking because of the port's lack of providing baring information. >> they say they plan to strike on tuesday at the port and at terminal one at the oakland airport. the union said members have been without a contract since the summer and there are currently no negotiations being held. >> the president is headed to southeast asia to highlight the united states role in the pacific rim. the four day trip includes stops in thailand. a summit in cam, bodia. he will be the first united states president to travel to

bay. light rain along the peninsula. san francisco, daly city, just east of san mateo, if you are crossing over the bridge, light rainfalling, little bit of fog. haywood with light rain. oakland with a bit of a break. the radar with a bit of a break. drizzle falling along the freeway there, san ramone, concord, this will continue to the east. this is the first system heret. will continue to migrate. this is the second system. this will bring us another round of rain by the evening hours, we will get a bit of a brief reprieve in the afternoon. let me show you what i mean. the scattered showers this morning, by about noontime, mainly dry, maybe peaks of sun, partly to mostly cloudy, lunch, we have dry conditions for the most part. two, three, things start to change over the north bay. the rest of the bay area still

looking good. it's now 4:00. this is the second storm moving on shore and then by about five it's a little heavier over the north bay. sprinkles over the central portion. 7:00 it's now south of i-80, south of the golden gate. by nine and ten down in to the south bay. weakens as it moves in to your area. you expect to see that rain later this evening. tomorrow morning we are wake up that storm has passed through and we are dealing a cooler but dry day for sunday. in a nut shell we have scattered showers, little bit of patchy fog if you have the early morning drive take it easy. mix of sun and clouds for the second half of the day and in to the evening the rain comes back. the winds are picking up. 16-miles an hour in san jose. for the afternoon, upper 50s to low 60's. we are talking from three to six degrees of warming for the day. 60 degrees for nevado. 61 in berkeley. low 60s for san francisco, 64 san jose, extended forecast with the weekend in view,

. a san jose police officer recovering this morning after being injuried in a shoot out with armed robbery suspects. welcome back to mornings on 2 . >> we are following some breaking news for you from san francisco this morning. in the last few minutes the fire department did confirm to us that they are looking for a missing surfer in the waters off ocean beach. we are staying on top of that story and will have more information as it comes into our newsroom. now back to the south bay, that san jose police officer who was hurt. he is expected to survive and police are still looking one of the suspects. matt keller is live in san jose with more on the shooting and the search. >> reporter: i spoke to a man who lives here where a suspect ran into. he said he couldn't get past the police barricade after getting off work and he ended up spending the night at his

parent's. there were several different crime seens. a police chase started after officers spotted a vehicle matching one used in armed robberies yesterday. two suspects stopped the vehicle and one suspect opened fire on officers. police say the officer suffered minor injuries. one suspect ran away at that time while the other drove off. that person crashed the vehicle at cunningham and tim way and ran into a nearby home. a neighbor side what happened next. >> started blocking the corner to the city area and then they were going down here and started setting up their weapons, let's go inside i guess. we just went inside. >> reporter: the suspect eventually came out of the home around one this morning and was arrested. police say he had a nonlife threatening gun shot wound. about 15 people were evacuate from their homes in the area and taken to a nearby

big waves. according to scanner traffic, the surfer wasn't too familiar with the water out here. we're still waiting on the condition of that surfer, but they did rescue the surfer on some rocks out there just north of seal rock. as soon as we get more information, we'll bring it to you. reporting live, lorainne blanco, ktvu channel 2news. well, all this rain has some people living in daly city really worried about the possibility of another mudslide, following a water main break earlier this week in that neighborhood. several homes were evacuated tuesday when a pipe feeding the reservoir burst, sending 98,000 gallons of water down the hill. crews are stabilized the hillside and they do not expect any additional problems from the rain. chp officer recovering this morning after crashing a patrol car. that accident happened just after 10:00 last night on highway 101 near the west railroad avenue exit in santa rosa. the car landed upside down there, as you can see, the

officer was not injured. highway patrol has not said if rain was a factor in that crash. the wet roads also causing several spinouts across the bay area. coming up in about three minutes, rosemary will have your full forecast and what you can expect as you get ready to head out the door this saturday morning. well, san jose police officer is recovering after getting wounded in a shootout with two other suspects. matt keller is live in san jose with the condition of that officer, as well as the manhunt now under way. >> reporter: police aren't releasing any details on that second suspect who is still on the loose. but they did arrest a man here at this home after he crashed a car nearby and ran inside. a police chase started after officers spotted the vehicle last night after 9:00 matching the description of one of four armed robberies yesterday. two suspects stopped the vehicle in the area and one suspect opened fire on officers. police say the officer suffered

minor injuries. >> but as far as the danger level with these guys, anybody who is trying to kill a police officer is as bad as it gets. and so the public needs to know that, a, that the officer did an outstanding job tonight, putting their lives on the line and one is lucky to go home to their family. >> reporter: police say one suspect ran off at that time, while the other drove off. that person eventually crashed the vehicle at cunningham and tim way and ran off into a nearby home. that suspect eventually came out of the home around 1:00 this morning and was arrested. police say he suffered a nonlife threatening gunshot wound, believed to be from the officer returning fire. about 15 people were evacuated from their homes in this area and taken to a nearby elementary school. one woman told me she didn't get back into her home until 2:30 this morning. live from san jose, matt keller, ktvu channel 2news. san jose police are investigating whether a homicide earlier in the evening is in any way connected to the gunmen and that officer-involved shooting. police found a man who had been shot and killed in a parking lot at seven eleven around 8:30 last

searching for two workers still missing after an explosion at an oil rig in the gulf of mexico. four men were critically burned in yesterday's blast on an oil rig platform off the coast of louisiana. the fire came a day after bp agreed to pay a record $4.5 billion in penalties for the 2010 deep water horizon explosion that killed 11 workers. a sheen of oil about half mile long has been spotted off the waters off louisiana, but officials say they believe it's caused by residual oil from the platform. families of the victims of the masacre at that colorado movie theater will soon receive payments from a charitable fund. the aurora victim relief fund says more than $5 million in donations will be distributed to families who lost loved ones and those who were injured in the shooting. families of the 12 people killed and five people who suffered permanent brain damage or paralysis will receive at least $220,000. police in missouri have arrested a man who they say planned to open fire during a screening of the new twilight

treating us this saturday good morning. >> good morning to you. winding down. a few scattered showers left. by afternoon, we'll get a bit of a break. it's not going to last for long. maybe you got the little ones a little stir crazy this morning. by afternoon, they will be able to get outside and play. we'll have a bit of dry weather. giving you a look at storm tracker 2, we've got light rain continuing to fall. i've drawn a line there, where you can see on the western edge, beginning to see now drier air move in. this system will continue to push to the east and up over the sierra, where we have high elevation snow. light rain continuing to fall, vacaville, martinez, off to the east bay. we've got light rain over oakland, san ramon. this first system, this is the tail end. we have an afternoon break. winds will be breezy at times, anywhere from 10 to 20 miles per hour. then ahead of the next storm, already on the approach. we'll have the winds pick up once again and could be gusty at times as the front rolls through. this is a colder storm, dropping out of the gulf of alaska. snow levels will be dropping down to about 6000 feet. if you're traveling to the

hits later tonight. so far, last night you can see the traffic was jammed on the commute home for that friday evening. and even today, chp reports more than a dozen accidents so far this morning. rain also a again tough commute across the bay area in traffic on friday. also, reports of accidents along highway 17, basically you can say all over the bay area people have been spinning out. well, with the rain in the valley comes snow in the mountains, and many skiers and snowboarders are welcoming the powder after a lack luster winter last year. we want to take you to the top of the heavenly ski resort, as the gondola makes its way up and down. this is what the mountain looks like. hard to see what's on the hill, but it is white up there. we know that they were opening their doors for skiers. several ski resorts have opened this weekend in tahoe and the reno area. squaw valley opened yesterday. five feet of the real snow fell

by tomorrow morning, a few lingering showers, drying out and dry through sunday afternoon, monday afternoon. tuesday night, next round of rain coming our way. we'll be tracking this for you tuesday night into wednesday morning. drying out in time for the afternoon drive and thanksgiving day looking pretty good as well. back to you. . in overnight news, oakland firefighters thinks someone by be torching cars. crews were called to an apartment building on the 3300 block of courtland avenue just before 4:30 this afternoon. when they got on scene, two vehicles in the carport were engulfed in flames. you can see firefighters after those flames put out, just trying to clear the scene. it took about 15 minutes to bring that fire under control. no one was hurt, but investigators are calling the fires suspicious. four people are in custody after a sheriffs deputy was shot in south los angeles. authorities say the deputy who belongs to a gang suppression unit was shot last night in the florence area, several miles south of downtown l.a. the deputy is said to be in stable condition after

undergoing surgery. a san francisco deputy sheriff is accused of robbing a bank and will be in court on monday. yesterday, ktvu channel 2news at noon first aired this surveillance video that was taken 10 days ago as a man stole $1700 from a bank of america on balboa street, near golden gate park. authorities say the photo is a 36-year-old deputy philip tong. his fingerprints were on the note handed to the teller. >> to make that kind of a decision, sworn member of law enforcement, i mean, i -- it's like a bad movie. you know, a really bad movie. >> tong filed for bankruptcy in july. financial records show he does hold assets of about $577,000, but he is also more than $700,000 in debt. he is married with two children and when ktvu reporter amber lee went to his home in pacifica, no one answered the door and someone turned off the porch

light. well, that deputy, not the only lawman on the wrong side of the law. former police commander matthew messier is behind bars, accused of taking over a person's estate. his wife, 30-year-old elizabeth, has also been charged in that case. investigators in indiana are trying to figure out what sparked a deadly workplace shooting at one of the nation's biggest food companies. police say the gunman shot and killed a coworker and then took his own life. it happened in a break room at the con aga conning conagra foods plant. >> the suspect fired several shots. >> authorities say they are reviewing surveillance video to try to figure out what possibly happened. hundreds of union workers at the port of oakland say they plan to go on strike for one day next week. >> it's an unfair labor practice strike. we're striking because of the

8.5%. alameda, 8.6%. san francisco, 6.8%. the chp, looking to fill vacant positions on its force. coming up at 9:50, we'll let you know how you can apply and why it's so rare for the agency to open jobs to the general public. well, looks like toll takers on the golden gate bridge will be working a little longer. the bridge project was to start phasing in an all-electronic toll-taking system next month, but there was a glitch with fast track. the start date will now be pushed back one month. the district says of the 28 toll workers set to lose their jobs, half have already retired or transferred to other jobs. well, a judge has denied a request from central valley farmers to halt work on the state's high speed rail project. farmers had asked for an injunction to start work on the $68 billion rail project because they say the state violated environmental laws. the judge ruled the california high speed rail authority acted in good faith when considering the project's impact. an initial 665-mile section of that rail line will run from

okay. drivers should be on the lookout for wet roads and standing water. the rain caused several accidents this morning and major backups during the evening commute and we're not done yet. another round of rain is expected to move into the bay area tonight. . we want to update you on the developing story we've been reporting from san francisco. a surfer is now being checked out after being stranded in the waters off ocean beach about 90 minutes ago. lorainne blanco is live in san francisco with that coastguard rescue. >> reporter: claudine, we just talked with the u.s. coastguard and they tell us the surfer is going to be okay. he was checked out by medical personnel just as a precaution. san francisco firefighters and the u.s. coastguard rescued the man on that rock over there by cliff house restaurant. surfers tell us because of the conditions, ocean beach is not a place for inexperienced surfers. the first call came in at 8:06 a.m. the u.s. coastguard says two men were out surfing this morning, when one surfer went missing for

about 30 minutes. crews searched the water near cliff house restaurant and located the surfer safe on the rock just after 8:30. >> i saw a, like the coastguard zodiac rescue boat and two other rescue guys on jet-skiis heading out of the bay, under the bridge. >> definitely treacherous for most folks. and especially when there's big tidal swings, huge currents that set up around the rock there. >> be aware of the conditions that can change at a moment's notice. >> reporter: so the good news, is the surfer is safe, got a scare this morning, but he'll be fine. there isn't anyone in the water right now, but the waves look like they are going pretty good. reporting live in ocean beach, lorainne blanco, ktvu channel 2news. a memorial will be held today for one of the victims of a fatal plane crash near byron last month. 57-year-old david scott beanie and larry strobel died when

their experimental plane went down, crashing into a field. beanie owned and managed the funny farm air strip. that's where did's memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. police need help identifying two people accused of robbing and beating a man near the metroian. these two men are expected in the october 24th attack. police say they approached a 63-year-old man, then all of a sudden began kicking and punching him. there is a surveillance picture of one of the men suspected in that assault. police say the men stole the victim's cell phone and then ran away. a southern california man was arrested at the oakland airport after authorities say he tried to get through security with a watch modified by materials that could have triggered an explosion. 49-year-old jeffrey mcbegan was arrested thursday night. tsa agents say his watch had a toggle switch, circuit board and fuses. mcgann was also wearing a military-style shirt with a

built-in tourniquet and oversized shoes with hollowed-out soles. mcgann told authorities he was traveling for work and the watch is part of an art project. he was booked into the santa rita jail. former cia director david petraeus testified behind closed doors. now lawmakers are in front of the cameras talking about what he told them about the benghazi terror attack. lawmakers say retired general petraeus told them his initial assessment of the attack pointed to terrorists. republican lawmaker peter king says the talking points provided by the cia were changed during the vetting process. several agencies took part in that process, including the justice department and the state department and king said, quote, it's still not clear how the talking points emerged and no one knows yet who came up with the final talking points. >> the original talking points were much more specific about al-qaeda involvement and yet the final ones said indications of extremists. it said indicate, even though it was clearly evidence to the cia that there was al-qaeda
